Lesson 63 · German A1-2

Adjectives of Opinion & Feeling

Gefühle und Meinungen beschreiben

Lesson 48 gave you sentence openers for opinions (ich finde, ich glaube). Today fills in the adjectives that go at the end of those sentences - how you actually feel, and what you think of something, in words rather than just "gut" or "schön."

Today's win: describe your mood and reactions with a wider range of adjectives than "gut" and "schlecht."

Feelings (with sein)

glücklichhappymüdetired
traurigsadnervösnervous
aufgeregtexcitedgestresststressed
Ich bin heute sehr müde. (predicate adjective, no ending - Lesson 22)

Opinions about things

interessantinterestinglangweiligboring
schwierigdifficulteinfacheasy
praktischpracticalanstrengendexhausting
Ich finde Deutsch schwierig, aber interessant. (reusing ich finde + aber, Lessons 48 & 26)

Intensifiers: making an adjective stronger or weaker

sehrvery
ziemlichquite/fairly
ein bisschena little
Ich bin ein bisschen nervös. (I'm a little nervous.)
Try it out loud: say how you feel right now using an intensifier + feeling adjective, then give an honest opinion of learning German using ich finde + two adjectives joined with aber.
