Ich würde gerne ...
You'll hear "Ich würde gerne ..." constantly in German - in shops, on the phone, in emails. It's even more polite than möchte (Lesson 11). This lesson teaches it as a fixed, ready-to-use pattern - the deeper grammar behind it (Konjunktiv II) is beyond this course's scope, but the phrase itself is too common to skip.
Ich würde gerne [infinitive, at the end].
Structurally it behaves exactly like a modal verb sentence (Lesson 11/49): würde takes the verb-second slot, and the main verb's infinitive goes to the very end.

You won't be misunderstood using either one almost anywhere - this is a register nuance, not a hard rule, worth having in your toolkit rather than obsessing over.
