The step between A1 and B1, in the real Goethe-Zertifikat A2 shape: 40 auto-graded items - 20 Hören across four task types (including the matching task that catches people out), 20 Lesen, plus two writing tasks and three speaking parts. Teil 2 and Teil 4 of the listening play once only.
After the attempt
- The A2 jump over A1 is mostly speed and length, not new grammar. If you scored well at A1 and badly here, the fix is more listening volume, not more rules - use the Hören-Trainer.
- Weak on Teil 2 (matching) or Teil 4 (ad matching)? Those two task types reward a technique, not vocabulary: read all options first, eliminate on one failing detail.
- Over 80% here means you are ready to start on B1, even if it feels early.
